 I'm Nicholas, and I have been passionate about information technology for as long as I can remember. My journey began with a fascination for computers and how they work, which led me to explore various aspects of IT, from programming to system administration.

My journey to Linux began out of dissatisfaction with Windows's direction. Over time, I became increasingly frustrated with the bloatware, frequent updates, and privacy concerns plaguing the Windows operating system. I longed for a more streamlined, efficient, and customizable environment that would allow me to focus on my work without unnecessary interruptions.


This led me to explore various Linux distributions, and I eventually settled on Linux Mint. The transition wasn’t challenging, but the benefits quickly became apparent. Linux offered me the control and flexibility I had been seeking. I could tailor my system to my needs, optimize performance, and eliminate unnecessary software. The open-source nature of Linux also aligned with my values, fostering a sense of community and collaboration that I found incredibly rewarding.


Since making the switch, I have never looked back. Linux has enhanced my productivity and deepened my understanding of operating systems and software optimization. It has been a pivotal part of my journey in IT, reinforcing my commitment to creating efficient, high-performance applications.


Over the years, I have gained substantial experience in game development, programming, and technical writing. As a Linux enthusiast, I have worked extensively with KVM and virtualization technologies, and I currently use Linux Mint as my primary operating system. My interest in game mods has allowed me to contribute to several projects, enhancing my skills in both development and collaboration.


My career aspirations are centered around becoming a software engineer. I am particularly interested in learning how to optimize software to work much better and with less bloat. I aim to leverage my technical skills to create efficient, high-performance applications that can significantly impact the industry. Additionally, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge through technical writing and helping others to understand and utilize technology effectively.


This course of study is a crucial step towards achieving my goals. I aim to deepen my understanding of advanced IT concepts, stay updated with technological advancements, and network with like-minded professionals. By the end of this course, I aim to have a comprehensive skill set that will enable me to tackle complex challenges and contribute meaningfully to the IT community.
